A moment of confusion over whether we were getting on a metro train or RER service (read I argued with Rick about it, got all cranky for a while, hissy fit then got over it) occurred once we got through arrivals at Gare du Nord. Four stops later and we're at our hotel in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Our hotel is in an older building. Below are some pics of the room and our view out the window.
We decided to have a rest before heading out to explore. Wandering down the street we find a multitude of shops, cafés, croissanterie, patisseries and the like. We headed down to the Notre Dame cathedral, just in time for them to close their doors as vespers were starting in 30 mins.
It's started to sprinkle so we gave up and made our way back to the Le Luxembourg Brasserie for dinner, via a number of souvenir shops. Dinner was sensational but ooohhhhh soooooo pricey. Won't be doing that again in a hurry. Rick ordered escargot and Ben actually tried one. I'll own up, I wasn't brave enough to try it.
A quiet night in tonight with some planning for the next three days.
